Bee Still: Discovering Stillness Amidst Nature's Buzz

£50.00

Join us for an immersive experience blending guided meditation with the soothing presence of honey bees, fostering a profound connection with the natural world.

A unique collaboration between Wendy at The Wellbeing Alchemist. Taking place this summer; an opportunity to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the buzz of day-to-day life.

This two-hour retreat will begin with a friendly welcome before beekeeping suits are donned and Stacy will welcome you to the apiary with a short chat about the bees, opening a hive briefly so you can see the colony at work and tune into their rhythms.  We will use our senses to immerse ourselves in their world, breathing in the warm hive scent, watching their gentle productivity, and listening to their buzz.   As the sun begins its descent, the forager bees will start to head home to their hive laden with pollen and nectar, Wendy will guide the group in some grounding meditation in the gardens by the hives. An opportunity to become once again aware of our surroundings as we listen to the sounds of nature getting ready for bed, inhaling the fresh air and appreciating a moment of calm.  Content, we will conclude with a drink and something sweet to eat before heading back into the “real world”.

FAQs:

Bees are scary, how am I supposed to relax with bees flying around me?

We are often taught as children that bees and bugs are scary and then as we grow up this fear stays with us, the reality for honey bees is that they will only sting when threatened or frightened. Stacy found that her stress decreased when she became a beekeeper and spending time with honey bees is also used in the USA to help people suffering with PTSD so why not give this a try; and there’s not better time to try than when you have a meditation practitioner on hand to help put you at ease!

Is this the same as a “bee experience”?

These events are quite different from the usual bee experiences hosted by Sunnyfields which are more about understanding nature than creating a connection with it.

Where is the event taking place?

The events will be taking place in the training apiary at Sunnyfields HQ which is in the beautiful Waveney Valley on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. The apiary is located next to a 99 acre ancient woodland where buzzards, red kites, deer, foxes and other wildlife can be found in abundance, the location is surrounded by fields (and the nearest neighbour is ½ a mile away!). The postcode is NR35 2DQ – half an hour from Norwich, an hour from Ipswich and just over an hour from Colchester.

Who is Wendy?

Wendy has been working in the field of well-being for over 20 years and is trained in many modalities after crashing out of her Corporate career due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (she fully recovered within 3 years).  She trained to teach Meditation at The British School of Meditation and holds an accredited qualification in the subject.  She also an Advanced EFT Practitioner and Life Coach.

When she is not working with clients Wendy can usually also be found with her animals (tortoise, parrot, rabbit and cat), in the garden (stroking bumble bees), cycling, wild swimming or crafting.
