Need some help as a swarm has landed in your garden; take at look at our swarm collection page.

Our Head Beekeeper, Stacy, is also available to give talks about being a beekeeper and how everyone can make a difference for our native pollinators.

Please scroll on to find our FAQ’s which may be of assistance.

Our apiaries are located throughout East Anglia with our training apiary in a little village called Hedenham on the Norfolk/Suffolk border in the Waveney Valley where mobile signal is terrible so if you’re looking to reach us then email is most likely to get through!

Our training apiary is located by our home so we’re not open to the public for unscheduled visits.

 FAQs

  • Our training and demonstration apiary is located on our rural farm in East Anglia, England.

We’re on the Norfolk / Suffolk border approx. 30 minutes from Norwich and an hour from Colchester / Ipswich (NR35 2DQ).

  • We love to welcome people to the apiary but all visits are by pre-arrangement and for attendees of the bee experiences or beekeeper training.

  • Wonderful news! Beekeeping is a very rewarding hobby but is a little more complicated than it first seems so we recommend you 1. visit with some bees to see if you like being around them and 2. do a training course before you start so you’re well prepared to care for them.

We would love to help with both of these and run bee experiences and beekeeping introduction courses during the Spring and Summer. Please take a look at the Experiences and Training pages for more information.

  • Due to the nature of the bee experience this is not something we can offer, we can recommend some lovely local places to visit if you’d like to drop them off or why not treat yourself to a place on a bee experience with them?

  • We recommend the bee experiences for children aged 5 and up but request that any children under 16 are accompanied by a paying adult who will be responsible for them during their visit.

Have you seen the private bee experiences - they’re perfect for families as can be tailored to interests and attention span!

  • No. We understand that some people can’t wait to get hands on with the bees but others wish to wait and sometimes only observe. We pride ourselves on our approach, wanting our guests to enjoy the experience and not put themselves in a position where they’re uncomfortable so we will always check in with you and will never force you to handle the bees if you don’t want to; you can still learn a lot and get a lot of enjoyment from the day just by being next to the hives.

  • We’re so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country and an area with many interesting places to visit. We’ve started to compile a list of local places recommended to us to stay- you can read about the area on our blog.

  • Please email us or send us a message via the contact form with details of your voucher but most importantly the voucher number - this enables us to find you on the Into the Blue booking system and make sure we give you the right experience or sponsorship package (and allows us to get paid by them!)

  • Yes! Stacy, our founder and head beekeeper, loves to talk about the bees and can talk to children from reception class up as well as adults of all ages.

We can also visit clubs , groups and businesses who are interested in bees, the environment and making a difference on their patch. We have projector, screen, props and enthusiasm so you just need to provide the audience! Please get in touch for more information on speaker rates. During these modern and complex times we can also provide talks virtually.

  • The apiary is outside and on one level but we’re not completely step free as there is a step required to go into the training shed and a few uneven areas around the garden where paths join with the grass. Toilet facilities are inside the main house where there’s no wheelchair access but it is on the ground floor and just one step into the house.

We want as many people as possible to experience the bees so if you would like to discuss accessibility with us please do get in touch so we can do our best to accommodate you.
